My number 1 thing on my to-do-list in Thailand was scubadiving. I had bargained almost everything on my journey, to keep enough money for my Padi. To save even more money I chose to travel by bus and boat instead of a plane.
Once I arrived in Koh Tao, I made a great deal with one of the diveshops. The deal included staying overnight and taking the Padi Open Water Course. The next morning I started my diving course with some theory. When I finished that, I went into the ocean for my first dive. Although I didn’t see much, because I wasn’t allowed to go deep enough to see most of the incredible things there are to sea undereater, I loved it and I couldn’t wait for my second dive!!
On my second dive I found Nemo the clownfish. On my other dives I saw even more! I saw seaturtles swimming next to me, snakes crawling in the water, snails and many other beautiful creatures. Also, the coral was very beautiful and once you have been diving once you want to dive more. But, even without all that underwater life, I would have had an amazing experience just by doing this. I absolutely was in heaven.
Advanced Scuba Diving
When I finished my first course, I immediately decided I wanted to go for my ‘Advanced Course’ to go even deeper and see more beauty of the underwaterworld. For the advanced course I had to do some specialtys. My specialtys included a dive at night and a deepdive. I also chose diving in a shipwreck and coordinate diving. There are many more courses to chose from, so there is something for everybody.
I can recommend diving in Koh Tao to all of you. It is such an amazing experience you’ll never forget!
