Perhentian Islands

The Perhentian Islands are one of the most beautiful places in Malaysia. Here you have beautiful white beaches, palm trees, a beautiful blue ocean and a great atmosphere. When visiting Malaysia you should not forget about this magical place.

The two Perhentian Islands

The Perhentians are divided by two different Islands called Perhentian Kecil and Perhentian Besar. They are for everybody. Besar, the bigger island, is more for families and couples, while Kecil, the smaller islands is a walhalla for backpackers.

But both the islands are great, beautiful and perfect for a great retreat.

On, and around, the islands the wildlife is amazing. In only four days, wishing I had more, I spotted a lot of different animals. From all kinds of monkeys, amazing birds, flying foxes to reptiles. And of course, the most famous thing about the islands is the life underwater!

Life under the sea

If you are a fan of diving, this is the place to be. For starters, there are many diving schools on both islands with programs for every kind of diver. From introduction dives to advanced dives, it is all possible and totally worth it! The life under the water is incredibly beautiful here. The coral is amazing, the fishes have every color you can think of and there is many, many more to see.

Even if you’re not a fan of diving, you can still be amazed by the life under the sea. Rent a snorkel and swim with all these amazing animals. Or go on a snorkel trip for a few dollars. Or do both! If you’re lucky, you’ll even see some turtles! Just don’t forget to put a little sun screen on your shoulders when snorkeling, cause you will forget time but the sun doesn’t stop shining. 😉

You can also relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches, sunsets and enjoy a great cocktail. Or go for a hike through a little jungle to spot even more wildlife and discover amazing deserted beaches and friendly locals.

The Perhentian Islands is for everybody and is definitely our must see in Malaysia!
